Ocelot was founded in 2013 by us, Matt and Ish, in our Edinburgh kitchen...

Inspired by our mutual passion for fine food, we went on a culinary journey that took us cooking around Europe, and culminated in us forming a craft chocolate company. This was something we felt would perfectly express our obsession with both fine food, and beautiful design (Ish is an Illustration graduate and does the designing!).

More than a decade on, our chocolate is now made by a small team in our micro factory in the heart of Dundee, Scotland. Here we take pride in fusing the world’s best ingredients with the world’s best - and most ethical - chocolate.

Our Philosophy

When it comes to quality, ethics, and taste, we don’t compromise...

Colour and form have always been at the visual heart of our brand, but we are more than just pretty packaging. Ocelot was created with the express attention of producing beautiful and delicious chocolate with minimal environmental impact.

All of our chocolate is certified organic, made with unrefined cane sugar, and never contains preservatives or emulsifiers.

In both 2023 and 2024 our sister company, and supplier Original Beans were awarded the Good Egg Award for World’s Most Ethical Chocolate: the only chocolate company to achieve green eggs in every category!

All Ocelot chocolates are made with Original Beans 100% regenerative cacaos: Climate Positive, Delicious & Pure.

Team

Alongside Matt & Ish, we have a dedicated team of four (Jordon, Laura, Dev and Kateryna) making and packing everything at our micro-chocolate factory in the centre of Dundee.

Here we are pictured with colleagues from our sister brand Original Beans, who are based in Amsterdam. Together we are a close-knit, chocolate obsessed gang originating from all corners of the globe.
